Jammer is a fun adventure that has serious concepts. The plot involves the supernatural; the quite-natural; the clearly-scientific; and the most-personal. In the world of anti-submarine warfare (ASW), and among the intricacies of individual point-counterpoint, as well as within the chess-like world of Intelligence and counter-intelligence, Jammer takes its place and makes its mark. There is romance, of course, and imminent love, along with other interpersonal and intrapersonal arrangements. This mixture lends the backdrop for a special project called JAMMER, the same name as an impressive great white shark, a creature that, unknown to her keepers, develops a mind and mission of her own. But Jammer was actually engineered for the most secret of anti-submarine warfare and independent thought is not part of the plan. Her handlers, the scientists involved, become starkly aware of this after she escapes the unique laboratory devised for this top-secret program.
The laboratory for this project is composed of an odd attachment of newly constructed World War 2 Fleet-type submarines, designed and built from old drawings, joined together and assembled in an innovative manner. Not only is the lab odd, so is the location of that center. The entire structure, anchored off the South coast of the USA on its own power is strategically placed just below the surface of a constructed island in a special bay. Two additional, newly assembled, Fleet-types are moored alongside. Both young and old are involved in this adventure that includes a bit of murder, a dash of espionage, a sprinkling of international intrigue and even a woman who can "see" things others can't. Jammer is a blend of personalities, some very good and some quite evil, with splashes of adventure designed to keep you entertained and involved. I hope you enjoy reading this work. It is based on a manuscript produced in home school by one of my daughters.
