Johnny and the Real Church was inspired by my looking out our front window at the beautiful day laid out before me.  It was Sunday, November 8, 2009, and I thought of the nearby Baptist church, as its bells began to ring, and the people gathering there.  Picturing these people, I suddenly thought of a special church called the Real Church, one created by a rock star who was looking for inspiration and guidance and couldn't find it.  When he creates his unique church based on the parameters set forth by a man standing in the middle of a parking lot, it becomes a reality, and the next day, I wrote the short story.  I hope you like it.
