Wheatie Rose was written in the company of a bottle of Jack Daniels and no others. It was filled with emotion and intrigue and rolled itself out on my paper. At the time, I was writing on an old portable typewriter on a table, in the shadow of "The Madam," on the third floor, in a dormer room, at 121 North Gill Street in State College, Pennsylvania. It was a good combination and a great writing environment. It involves two sisters, in a way, and there is a history of violence, and those involved are "peculiar." What happens is not necessarily unique, but I liked the diabolical way it turned out. It is a 2-act play.
